Is the new treatment option of local collagenase injection superior to other therapeutic measures?

Answer

Randomised controlled studies showed a therapeutic advantage of collagenase injection when compared to placebo. However, there are no comparisons with surgical (partial fasciotomy) or minimal invasive treatment options (percutaneous needle fasciotomy). Because of insufficient evidence an additional benefit of the new treatment cannot be proven.
