About Risks and Side Effects of Herbal Cough Remedies and Homeopathic Expectorants

Summary: In Germany, family physicians quite frequently tend to prescribe "herbal" or "homeopathic" drugs with little proven therapeutic efficacy. German patients tend to see their FPs more frequently than patients in other European countries but consultations last shorter, thus lacking time for comprehensive conversations. The reasons for this behaviour might be found in the way how German FPs are remunerated.
