Summary: After being the first country introducing systematic skin cancer screening in 2008, Germany has now a guideline on skin cancer prevention. The aim of this article is to provide background information on the official dissent from representatives of the German College of General Practice and Family Medicine regarding pivotal recommendations on primary prevention of skin cancer.
