Basics and Decision Aids for Drug Trials in Family Practice

Summary: Clinical drug trials are rarely performed in German family medicine. Thus, little is known about concrete implications of trial participation for Family Practitioners, their practice staff and patients. To bridge this gap, this paper provides overviews of the basics of clinical trials. Practice-oriented topics are demonstrated, and basic issues affecting the decision for trial participation are addressed.
