Summary: The project “structured information management for quality circles” (SIQ) offers evidence-based and practice-oriented content for family practitioners in Saxony-Anhalt. SIQ is part of family practitioner-centered health care contracts between the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVSA) and the health insurance companies AOK and IKK gesund plus, all in Saxony-Anhalt. A multiprofessional team consisting of KVSA, insurance companies, the institute for family medicine at the Otto von Guericke-university Magdeburg, family practitioners and specialists develops teaching material for quality circles. Since the beginning of the project in 2008 17 topics have been prepared. The article describes the working method and experiences.
