Electronic Health Records in Family Medicine*german translation / full article
Abstract: The introduction of electronic health records causes profound changes in family physicians’ everyday practice. In France, doctors are encouraged to make use of these electronic records, but whether they help to improve patient care has not yet been established. This is in part a consequence of the still very basic functionalities of those records. Family physicians seem to be poorly prepared to the transformation of their profession due to developments in informatics. There is little research on how to make a better use of computers in family medicine but there are promising approaches.
